AKA & Anele Tembe’s tumultuous relationship is set to be chronicled in the upcoming book titled “When Love Kills.” Authored by award-winning writer and journalist Melinda Ferguson, the book aims to explore the intricacies of their romance amidst tragic events, including Anele Tembe’s fatal fall in 2021 and AKA’s subsequent murder in 2023. Scheduled to coincide with AKA and his friend Tibz’s ongoing murder trial, the release date for “When Love Kills” is yet to be finalized, although NBA Publishers anticipates its availability in April 2024, priced at R320.
“When Love Kills” delves into the life of hip hop star AKA, whose relationship with 21-year-old Anele Tembe descended into a whirlwind of toxicity, alleged substance abuse, and violence, ultimately culminating in their tragic demise. Following AKA’s death, public speculation arose, implicating Anele’s father in the brutal murder, fueled by motives of avenging his daughter’s death. However, these allegations were vehemently denied by Anele’s father, dismissing them as unfounded.
In an interview, AKA’s father, Tony Forbes, expressed his belief that AKA and Anele were incompatible and their relationship was ill-fated from the start. He emphasized that, from his perspective as a father, the union between them was not conducive to their well-being.
